Reclaiming self-esteem under capitalism
Ever been told just to #loveyourself, but still find it hard to not put yourself down? Ever been told #youcandoanything, but experience prejudice and a lack of real opportunities? Ever felt like you are constantly not quite ‘enough’?
This creative workshop for anyone age 12+, uses arts based activist methods to deconstruct the pressures young people experience around how they ‘should’ be, and transform the lens through which we judge ourselves into something kinder and more sustainable.
The workshop includes a range of creative activities, from free-writing, collaging, erasure poetry and zine-making. It is a space for teens to rage and reimagine as we put individualistic life advice in the bin, understand ourselves as part of something bigger and discover why loving yourself could be a radical act.

“This was the most enjoyable workshop of the festival! Tasha was very engaging and encouraging. I felt really seen and heard. I loved the no-pressure atmosphere and how you culd write or draw or express your ideas in any way you wanted. She met us where we were at and we went forward from there together. She took your thoughts on board”
